 Freestanding Baths

Make an instant style statement in your bathroom with a beautiful freestanding bath. Nothing screams ‘classy' more than one of these luxury items, especially an original Victorian bath with clawed feet.

Overflow Baths

To get a real look of envy, install a fabulous overflow bath, and instantly create a designer bathroom to die for. These have special filters for the water to flow down at the top, or have a separate outer bath so the water can go over the top of the one you're in. You'll suddenly find yourself inundated with requests to come and stay over at your house!

A Splash of colour

Color is an important and often-ignored therapeutic tool. The colors you see instantly affect you on a physical, mental, and emotional level. When designing your bathroom palette think of natural serene settings you've experienced and try to recreate these colors in your bathroom walls and furnishings. Certain colors, such as blue and purple, generally evoke calming feelings. Be careful of overdoing one color. All blue, for instance, might be calming but also feel depressing. Choose color schemes with complementary shades that reflect your personality.

Of all the rooms in the house, the bathroom requires the most flexible lighting scheme. It should be bright enough to enable you to apply make-up, but you don’t want to take a relaxing  bath under a white fluorescent light.

Lighting

Different forms of lighting can be used to completely transform the look and ambience of a bathroom – from a bright and functional area to a softly lit, relaxing spa-like space. Ambient lighting provides general all-over illumination, supplied by wall- or ceiling-mounted fixtures, as well as natural sources of light from windows and skylights. Task lighting is required to highlight specific areas for certain functions, like the mirror for shaving or applying

make-up. Accent lighting can be used to create specific effects, highlighting a particular architectural detail or any other interesting aesthetic feature in a room.  Decorative lighting is used to create certain moods, set the atmosphere and complement the decor of the room.

Adding personality with lighting and colour

Although baths are headed in a clean and streamlined direction, that doesn’t mean there’s no room for personality!!!

We are seeing very fun trends for bathroom lighting, like hanging fixtures by the vanity mirrors, instead of wall-mounted brackets. Paint colours will be very bright and airy. Wallpaper has also been making a comeback, with the usual floral and stripe. We'll see a lot of geometric papers in bold colours, and a lot of prints that look almost like fabric! Texture, light and colour are the three main components to a trendy bathroom.
